A dealer who wanted to move his stock to a new system, and who also has to share his data regularly with third parties — his accountant, a portal, a fellow dealer.

The problem
Everything went car by car. Migrating a stock meant filling in the same form dozens of times. A price round across the whole inventory — at a change of season, for instance — meant opening every record, adjusting it, saving it. Work that takes hours and that nobody looks forward to, so it happened too late or only halfway.

Our approach
Bulk import is not technically difficult. The danger lies in what goes wrong: one import with a shifted column or the wrong decimal separator can wreck an entire inventory, and you only notice when a customer rings about a car priced at 1,290 euros.
That is why the import is built as three steps you cannot skip. First the dealer picks his file — in the format he already uses, not a format he has to learn. Then he maps his columns to the fields in the system; that mapping is remembered, so it is only needed once. Then comes a preview: this is what is about to happen — this many cars new, this many updated, these rows are wrong and here is why. Only after that confirmation is anything written.
The chassis number serves as the key. Importing the same file twice does not add a second copy, it updates the existing cars. That looks like a detail, but it is exactly what gives a dealer the nerve to use it: re-importing without fearing that his stock will double.
The export is the same movement in reverse, in a format any accountant can open. Together, import and export make the data the dealer's again: he can take it with him, share it and edit it without depending on anyone.

The result
Moving a full inventory across has become a matter of minutes instead of a day. A price change across the entire stock happens in a single action, and the dealer can reach his own data without a middleman.
